How we handle your data

What this site collects, why, who sees it and how to get it removed.

Who is responsible

What the enquiry form collects

Your name, your email address, your child's age, the kind of place you are looking for, and whatever you write in the message field. Nothing else, and no field is collected that we do not show you.

We use it to answer your enquiry and to advise you. We do not pass it to a school without your say-so. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

The legal ground is the step you took towards a contract with us and our interest in answering the people who write to us. Under Swiss law this is the revised Federal Act on Data Protection; if you are in the EU or the EEA, it is Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

How long we keep it

An enquiry that leads nowhere is deleted after twelve months. Where advice turns into a placement, we keep the correspondence for as long as the commercial relationship requires and as long as Swiss bookkeeping law obliges us to.

What this site does not do

It sets no cookies. Only your shortlist is kept in your own browser (local storage), so that it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device unless you send it to us yourself with an enquiry, and you can empty it at any time.
It runs no analytics and no tracking pixels.
Its typefaces are served from this site, not from a font network, so visiting a page sends your address to nobody else.
It embeds nothing from third parties: no maps, no video, no chat widget.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Its servers record the usual technical information when a page is served: the requesting IP address, the time, the page, and the browser's own description of itself. This is what any web server records, it is kept for security and troubleshooting, and it is not joined to anything you send us through the form.

That hosting means data is processed in the United States. Where you are in the EU or the EEA, that transfer runs on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to our using it. Write to the address above and we will answer.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or, in the EU or the EEA, to your own supervisory authority.
