The language school has 18 well equipped classrooms accommodating groups of different sizes plus two quiet rooms, one used for examinations and the other a common room where students can relax and meet between classes.

An additional well equipped classroom with multimedia technology is available for the use of the professionals who attend our specialist business-centred language courses.

The lobby provides plenty of space for students to meet and get to know one another.

There is a coffee corner, equipped with vending machines for hot and cold drinks on each floor.

Free Wi-Fi is available during office hours.

Accommodation

VOXEA does not provide accommodation directly. However, we can support you by finding any of the following types of accommodation. Each request for accommodation is carefully evaluated so that we can offer housing that best fits students’ requirements.

VOXEA selects host families carefully. Our team regularly visits these families to ensure they meet our quality requirements. Students live with an experienced family who are committed to supporting them with their language skills. Thus learning acquired from their courses can be practiced immediately in a supportive environment. At the same time students are fully involved in the culture and way of life of Switzerland. Information about the host family is communicated as soon as registration is fully completed.

For students who wish to live independently, VOXEA finds furnished studios in Lausanne. We make the necessary arrangements and provide details as soon as the student is fully registered.

VOXEA has a list of hotels and pensions of different categories, prices and availability, for people who prefer this option.

Excursion

VOXEA is happy to organize excursions for students upon request. We work together with professional and trustworthy local travel agencies. These agencies have extensive experience of organising trips for groups or individuals.

Our office staff have excellent knowledge of Lausanne and its region and provide students with information, schedules, concert programs or movie times, and suggestions for outings and excursions.

VOXEA provides a range of courses suitable to all levels of attainment. Pre-structured courses are available at times to suit you, during the day, or in the evenings. We offer courses especially designed for Au Pairs, which can be taken once a week over a whole year. For corporate clients we offer individually customised courses, which are delivered either on-site, or at the school, at times to suit the client.

All courses in French can optionally lead to a formal qualification, either the Test d’Evaluation de Français, or the Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Francaise (DELF)

Our French courses are designed to support people in increasing their knowledge and fluency. They are taught in small groups of around 10 students, all of whom are at similar levels of attainment.

Classes are held during the day, from 08:30 to 12:00 or 13:00 to 16:30, depending on the level of students.

VOXEA runs a French au-pair course every Wednesday afternoon. You can start this course every Wednesday if you are not a beginner for only 71.- for one week module To meet the needs of au-pairs, this course is delivered over one half-day per week throughout the year, except during school holidays. The course leads optionally to a recognised qualification (DELF).

These courses are designed for people who, in addition to the need to learn French and improve their language skills, want to strengthen their oral expression and comprehension. Intensive French courses include the standard course material together with additional oral practice. Courses are delivered to small groups of students all of whom are at around the same level.

Evening courses last 5 or 10 weeks and are designed for people who are unable to participate in classes during the day. Courses are taught in small groups of people with similar levels of attainment, may concentrate on either oral, written skills or conversation and be targeted at the needs of Business communication, or personal development.

There are two possibilities:

This course helps people to improve their skills in conversation and comprehension. Students are encouraged to talk spontaneously about topics that they find personally interesting.

These courses are targeted at busy Professionals who need to improve their overall business communication skills and grasp of business terminology. All courses can be taken optionally as preparation for a formal examination.

Film Reviews

Our film reviews are held every afternoon from 13.00 to 14.30. These classes will help you to expand and improve your French vocabulary. You will also gain an insight into French culture, which will enhance your general education. PARTICIPANTS: 5-12 WHEN: Monday to Friday 13:00-14:30

Conversation Club

Our Conversation Club meets every evening from 18.30 to 20.00. These classes can help to improve your oral language skills and expand your vocabulary through discussions on subjects such as culture, politics and the different ways of life and customs in Switzerland. PARTICIPANTS: 5-12 WHEN: Monday to Friday 18:30-20:00

VOXEA assesses levels of attainment using the scale defined by CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), from A1 to C2:

You can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of simple concrete needs. You can introduce yourself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know and things you have. You can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to cooperate.

You can understand isolated sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. personal information on purchases, work and family environment). You can communicate in simple common situations requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar activities and matters. E.TEF

The e-tef is the electronic version of the French Evaluation Test. It allows mandatory TEF® to be evaluated and awarded electronically, and reproduces the main features: a test of reading comprehension, followed by a listening test and a test of vocabulary and structure, a total of 150 multiple choice questions.

The results obtained in the optional oral test, e-tef expression, are communicated via the Internet.

WHO WOULD NEED THIS TEST? Anyone from business, academic, central or local government department wishing to receive their results in the shortest possible time.

TEF NAT

The Evaluation Test of Oral French is the version of EFT® (French Assessment Test) required by the French Ministry of Interior for people who wish to apply for naturalization.

WHO WOULD NEED THIS TEST? Anyone wishing to obtain French nationality.

E.TEFAQ

This is the electronic version of TEFaQ.

WHO WOULD NEED THIS TEST? Anyone wishing to receive the results in the shortest possible time. FORMAT OF RESULTS The certificate delivered to each candidate presents the score as well as individual comments for each test.

The candidate is positioned on a scale based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​of the Council of Europe (CEFR) and the Canadian Language Benchmarks grid.

TEFAQ

The Assessment Test TEFaQ French adapted to Quebec’s version of EFT ® (French Assessment Test) required by the Ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities of Quebec for people who wish to apply for naturalisation.

WHO WOULD NEED THIS TEST? Anyone wishing to immigrate to Quebec.

Total Immersion courses are designed for company leaders, academics and students who do not have the necessary time for extended courses. This course has a maximum duration of one week. Participants study intensively, based on a programme that is tailored individually according to their objectives and needs.
